Past Years
Here you can see what happened on Blue Monday in 2010.
2010 Highlights
KCC Library staff will be encouraging members of the public to pass on words of inspiration and encouragement to their fellow borrowers by asking them to write a feel-good message on a piece of paper. This can include things they enjoy, jokes and book recommendations. Staff will then place the message in the next borrower’s book.
See a film of how the Kent Libraries made Blue Monday less blue
The Gulbenkian Cinema, Canterbury had a film showing at 6.50pm followed by a smorgasbord of fun in the foyer with free cake, stalls and live music featuring the mighty Happy Trails bringing the sounds of Americana Folk Music to Canterbury.
Canterbury College made deluxe free hot chocolate from 10am – 12 noon, having a Giant Balloon keepy-up event and meeting the Blue Man – http://www.morphsuits.co.uk. .
Northern Stage will turn their smallest stage into a haven of fun and relaxation at lunchtime, with giant Jenga, Twister and lots of other favourite games and at teatime a special screening of their collective favourite feel-good film with lashings of hot chocolate and slippers for those who want them. The hope is that Blue Monday will offer anyone in the building a little island of calm.
